OXBLOW!!!

Yeah, so Ox-bow was pretty fun. The best part was the jam session... with my teacher! And other students! At midnight!

The worst part was finding a spider in my bacon this morning...

I'm never having bacon again! X(

In other news, the big exciting event of NANOWRIMO is approaching ever so fast. It's only a month and a half and a way, and I feel like I should start planning my novel already. Or maybe I can just wing it this year... hmmmmmm. OR, I should even start thinking about whether or not I should even DO NaNo this year!

Hm...

I didn't think about that for long. I definitely have to do it. Hells yeah, I'm gonna write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days! I just can't wait to get all stressed out about homework, and classes, and NaNo, and (if I get a job) work! I can't wait to go around the corner and have my intense writing sessions with a cup of tea and my Mac Book Pro. I can't wait to complain about how stressed I'm making myself, on purpose! I can't wait to meet all the Chicago people who are going to be writing all at the same time!!!

Man, I get waaay too easily excited... I think I almost 'gasmed because of it. That's how much I love writing. And NaNoWriMo.

How un-conceptual of me.

So, I can't sleep once again, and realized that I haven't posted in a while. So in order to sooth the weird pressure headache that I've been having all day, here's some exciting news/stuff!!

I wrote a play the other day, my 4th one. So now I've got 3 that I'm willing to perform in a series, on one night. But FIRST I need actors, a co-director, tech people, scene/prop people, and the most important thing: I need to know if I can actually produce the plays at SAIC.

My plays aren't exactly "conceptual"... and I know that they don't really have a theater department, just a "performance art" department. But they have a stage, so shouldn't I be able to use it? It's gonna be hard to find actors, since people don't really go to SAIC for acting, but I'm keeping my hopes up, and praying that some will be interested in taking part in helping produce these 3 plays.

So if anyone knows anything about this kinda thing, let me know. If anyone has a cure for my weird pressure headaches, let me know. If anyone can recommend a good sleeping drug, let me know.

Goodnighty night.

Edit: I changed the fonts!!! Tell me how you like/hate them!

Je suis finis!

At around 9:30, November 30th, 2007, I wrote a 50,000-word novel! I'm proudly wearing my pin now that says, "Novelist"! Ohhh, I can't wait until I go pick up my cheesecake that I ordered from the band... it's Oreo and I'm salivating just thinking about it... mmmm Oreo... *Homer Simpson gargle/drool*

Anyway, I'm still not done with the plot though. No worries, it was expected. :-P I'll finish it after a bit of rest. I've also decided to write everyday, even though I'm done with NaNo. It's a very good habit to get into. I won't be writing 1,667 words a day, but hey, at least I'll be writing something!

Yes, perhaps I will use this blog to do that, though I know that I will most definitely write things I don't want people to see, like the extra personal stuff I never write here. Why? Because... actually, I can't think of a good reason, other than offending someone just in case they stumble upon a nasty comment that I write.

::coughcoughihatethatbradleykidfrommyscienceclasswithaburningpassioncougcough::

Anyway, with the writing thing, there are other things I don't want to post here. You know, just in case I do become famous, and have to worry about publishing/copyrighting stuff. Yeah, I've heard that if you post something online, on a website such as FictionPress.com, which I used to use a lot, until sometime last November. What a coincidence!

Oh no!!

I thouhgt that I was going to blog every day this month, but I forgot to post since last monday! Boo hoo... :-(

It's alright, the point is that I'm doing pretty good with the novel, at the moment, I'm at 28264/50000. i got past the halfway point!! It's all downhill from here. Ever since I downloaded a timer/alarm for my computer, it's been easier for me to get more done. Now I can write in specific amounts of time, and this has increased my productivity. i also time my breaks to make sure i don't get distracted doing other things. Well, i have only a minute left of my break for now, and then it's another 20 minutes of writing, writing, writing!!

Halfway Over, or Halfway Begun?

I got soooooo much done today!!! Check it out:

I'm still behind, but this was a big jump. And I'm going to the write-in on Sunday, so that should help immensely.

I helped do the announcements this week, and they are going to be sooo funny tomorrow! We dubbed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and it was awesome!

I found a cool French song, it's called "Avant Garde Bubblegum Factory," by French Disco. I have noooo idea what it means though, but it's sweet.

Speaking of music, I've decided to "abandon" my last.fm account for a while. It makes me think that I should listen to music that I don't usually listen to, and the statistics aren't accurate on it because of that. So I'm just not even going on the site anymore. =P

I went to Barnes and Noble and did lots and lots of writing today! Woot!

(#*^$@#(&&

I'm so mad, I didn't get much work done. I was going to use my extra long free period to work but then I had to organize my profile for when I visit The School of the Art Institute for my Immediate Decision appointment. I've been accepted into two schools! I'm so happy! (Wow, today was bipolar...) I've been accepted into Bradley University and Loyola. Tomorrow, there is a chance that I will have three acceptances under my belt! :-D Anyway, I was just talking about how MAD I was because I didn't get much writing done. I think I might have to go on Sunday to Barnes and Noble, though only if it doesn't interfere with my plans to hang out with someone. At least I got about 300ish words. My english teacher told me that I was an awesome journalist, and it comes naturally to me!! He said that out of all the editorials he read, he liked mine the best. :-) He told e to go to Northwestern and become a journalist. I'm thinking about that now, but I kinda wanted to double major with writing and graphic design, so I don't know. And Northwestern is incredibly hard to get into, only 1 out of 3 that apply get in. I'm crossing my fingers!

The Noveling Begins...

Here's my first word count update for NaNoWriMo 2007!!

1895/50000

As soon as they invent a widget for this year that automatically updates you're word count for you, I'll just have to type it out. Oh well, no biggie! This was my word count meter from last year:

I'm a walking ad-vert-is-ment, for everything I never meant.

Oh. My. God.

I just ate the most delicious caramel in the world!!

I swear, it was like an orgasm in my mouth.

Anyway, so my day was pretty good. I'm super psyched for NaNoWriMo... just 8 more days!! I haven't been doing too much planning on my novel, but I think that's okay. It's probably better to have a vague outline than a detailed plot summary, because it won't give you much room to add in weird new plot twists. I think one of the most fun parts of NaNoWriMo is coming up with plot summaries that don't make sense. For example: In my novel last year, I had these two men chasing my protagonist all over the world, but I had no idea why. So, in the end, I decided that it was because she had something very expensive, and the only exspensive thing I could come up with at the time was a diamond encrusted cell phone...

I really need to edit that part out and think of something new! That is, if i ever get around to editing it. It's no where near publisher worthy, especially since I expanded every single contraction in it to build up my word count. I'll get around to fixing that.

Speaking of procrastination, I found a cool quote today: "Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday." -Don Marquis

Haha, so true.

I decided something today, I'm not going to keep trying to get better at things that are way too competitive, and I'm not really good at. I've tried out for a lot of theater productions at school, but I'm just not as good as some of the other people who always get in. I'm going to keep writing and doing artwork, because I keep neglecting top develop those skills, and I could probably be a lot better at them if I just tried more.

I love writing, I don't know why I didn't discover this sooner! It's weird how I don't talk much vocally, but on paper I can do all kinds of things with words.

I'm going to bed, before I come up with another clever way to get myself killed, or worse... expelled! But before I do, quizzes are fun. Here's a quiz I took:

You are a Serious Date

Your dating philosophy?
"Dating is for finding a compatible partner"
You're not so concerned with how you date...
As much as where the relationship ends up.

Guys to look for:
Men who write a good bit about what they're looking for.
Not only does it show that they are serious about dating as well -
But that they've already put a good deal of thought in to it.
